We live in a fast-paced life. As adults we have a lot of responsibilities, and we can lose ourselves in those responsibilities and the busyness of our everyday life. Our children are growing up in a stress epidemic culture full of passive entertainment. There is pressure from both work and school, we rush from meetings to activity, eating on the go, working and doing homework in the car, and often allowing our electronic devices to create more distance and disconnect between us and the people that we care for. Our job as grown-ups in this world is to set a good example for the children around us, helping them hold onto their self-compassion and self-awareness to create less suffering not more. But how can we do that, if we haven’t found our own center?
The thoughts that occupy our mind most of our waking time are repetitive, unsupportive and unhelpful. Our deeply rooted habits dictate our behavior and we go about our lives on autopilot. We tend to lose focus, often feeling overwhelmed because our mind is too noisy and undisciplined. There are many techniques to develop the mind, body and soul connection, and establish a relationship to it. Yoga soothes the body; Meditation fills the mind with equanimity and the Creative Arts appeases the soul. Together, Yoga, Meditation and Expressive Arts is a powerful combination as art, meditation, and healing all come from the same source in the body and are all associated with similar brainwave patterns and mind-body changes. They promote psychological health and offer us a way to process and express our feelings, perceptions, thoughts, and memories in ways that words cannot.

10 Simple Ways to Practice Gratitude
It has been tough year for everyone. Wherever you are in the world, you have most likely been affected by Covid either directly through the virus itself, social isolation, financial hardships, civil unrest and overall unease in heart and mind. More than ever before, our overall well-being is suffering and more than ever it is important to focus on creating and keeping up a Gratitude Practice!
By doing so we take control of where our attention goes. When we focus on what we can control, within the the realm of our thoughts and actions, we can turn a negative cycle into a positive one. People who regularly practice gratitude experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness, and even have stronger immune systems. All because they take time to notice and reflect upon the things they are thankful for.
I am thrilled to announce my upcoming Costa Rica Retreat in the fall of 2016 together with Just Breathe Yoga Studio! We will spend 6 days and 5 nights in the middle of the rain forest at the Eco conscious retreat center Finca Luna Nueva, built on a 200 acre organic farm.
Imagine being one with nature and awaken to the sounds of tropical birds and howler monkeys. Imagine breathing in the deep, clean air of the rain forest and unwinding to the natural rhythms of this tropical paradise. If you can - join us!
We will practice yoga twice a day, eat delicious food from the certified organic biodynamic farm, explore volcanic hot and cold springs and other amazing group activities. There will also be a lot of downtime for self exploration and to enjoy the magical land of Costa Rica.
If you want to stay longer, just let me know and I’ll help you book the extra nights in paradise!
Let's inject the world with more LOVE!
I am traveling to Latvia in the end of May with the social enterprise 109World to join their mission 109Education where I will be sharing Yoga and Expressive Arts with children that have been brought up in institutions.
As you can imagine these children have had a lot of trauma in their life. Yoga and Expressive Arts can help manage stress, foster emotional healing, build confidence and awaken individual creativity. These tools can help them turn into healthy, thriving individuals of their community, breaking the vicious cycle of poverty and social exclusion.
